lies on the northern border of the black forest. The city
which has a century-old reputation as a center to the jewellery-,
design- and goldsmith-industry, offers a lot of attractions
like the jewellery museum, the gemstone museum and many others.
A special guide for handicapped people provides information
beforehand on the varied choices, where wheelchair access
is possible. Special rates are offered for most of the theaters,
concerts and other events.
In the immediate vicinity, you can
- visit historic places of interest, like the monastery
of Maulbronn,
- watch the popular musicals at the SI-Center in Stuttgart,
- take a trip to the nearby Alsace or the black forest
or
- simply enjoy the varied natural surroundings.
A barefoot-park offers new sensual experiences and during winter
there are some smaller skiing areas. On the side of many hiking-
and biking-trails through the old vineyards and protected marshlands,
the popular 'Besen-Wirtschaften' (temporary restaurants) invite
